本影像工作坊計劃以循序漸進的主題課程,帶領學員欣賞當代影像作品,以及團體討論的方式,來接觸、認識影像與影像敘事的語言和方法,進而透過影像創作去觀察、紀錄與反思日常風景中的吉光片羽。本工作坊以主題式課程搭配遊戲式拍攝習作的安排,目的在於引導學員找到重新發現自己與世界的樂趣。同時利用輕便、技術門檻低的手機攝影機,讓學員能更直覺地記錄與分享生活經驗,讓影像成為表達自我與觀點的創作媒材。
工作坊課程大致可分為三個階段,每個階段都有2-3個主題,除了以與主題呼應的影像作品來打開與學員的對話與討論之外,並在每一個主題課程中安排與主題相應的拍攝練習。
台灣電影工作坊
This film workshop has designed to guide participants step by step with different subject themes. Begin with watching and appreciating contemporary film/video works, proceeding to group discussions, participants could unveil themselves to know image and its narrative language and methods. And furthermore, through creating their own film/video, they could observe, documents and retrospect those trivia matters in the daily landscape. This workshop curriculum arranges with thematic courses, which alongside with playful shooting practices to intrigue participants to rediscover the joy and fun within them and the world. Also with utilizing the mobile phone as an easy-access shooting device, it enables participants to intuitively document and share life experiences, and makes image as a creative medium to express oneself and thoughts.
The workshop proceeds with three phases. Each phase contain two to three subjects. Aside from watching theme related film/video works to open up conversations and discussions with participants, the shooting practices will be arranged as echoing to each course subject.

第一階段《影像與我》
Phase 1 <Image and I>
著重在於認識影像,了解影像的紀錄性與虛構性,認識媒材的性質、類型與語言,並試著利用影像來描述自己。
The first phase will be focusing on knowing image, understanding its documenting and fictional qualities, understanding, as
a medium, what qualities, categories and languages it contains. Also will encourage participants to use image to describe self.
影像是什麼?
我是誰?我又可能是誰?透過藝術家的自畫像、自拍照或自傳式電影,去發現我們可以如何透過影像再現的方式描述自己,或是建構出另一個可能的「我」。

影像是什麼?本工作坊的第一個主題就是帶領學員認識影像的本質與特質。利用參考作品展開對影像的思考與討論:靜態影像與動態影像之間的關係是什麼?什麼是紀錄式影像?紀錄式影像是否意味真實?什麼又是虛構式影像?虛構就是不真實嗎?紀錄/虛構式影像之間是非黑即白嗎?

What is image?
What is image? The first subject of the workshops will be leading participants to know about the essence and characters of image. Through reference to some works, thinkings and discussions toward image is then begin. What is the relation between still images and moving images? What is documented film/video? Is documented image representing realities? What is fictional image? Fictional means not real? Are documented and fictional image contradicted to each other?
Who am I? Who else could I be? Through artists’ portraits, selfies or autobiography film, we could discover how to use image representations to describe selfness, or to construct another possible “I”.

Phase 2 <Daily Life as Landscape>
加強學員對基礎影像技術的認識,並繼續帶領學員觀察自己的
日常生活,同時也更加深入認識用影像說故事的方法與可能性。
The phase will enhance participants’ knowledge toward shooting technics. Also, through different course subjects and practices, it leads participants to observe daily life and know deeper about moving image’s narrative approaches and possibilities.

影像技術基礎
生活裡的小事件
電影有其獨特語言,當我們將電影創作過程視為一種「書寫」,那麼每一個語句是經由剪接影像、聲音、文字等元素所構成。在這一堂課程中,將帶領學員認識鏡頭類型、分鏡與剪接相關基礎原理 。透過影像技術的基礎認識,來一窺電影語言的運作。
許多藝術家曾以日常生活活動作為拍攝主題,透過影像式的觀看,這些習以為常的生活行為成為事件,而有了另一層寓意。經由這些作品的賞析與討論,試圖打開學員對日常瑣事的感知力。

在這一個主題課程裡,將介紹不同藝術家如何利用影像來描繪個人與空間的關係,經由空間的再現,我們可以領略作者觀看世界的方式與角度,進而呈現出個人與世界的關係。

追憶似水年華
如何重現「回憶」?電影影像與記憶之間一直有著特別的關係,對許多電影作者說,電影影像是用來建構記憶最好的媒材。透過不同類型影像作品的賞析與討論,來探索如何用影像書寫過去與回憶。

Film has its unique language. If we describe producing film as a type of “writing”, then each sentence is composed with edited images, sounds, texts and other elements. In this course, it will guide participants to learn different types of shots, storyboards and editing, basic theories. Through accessing to these basic skills, they could understand how film language function.
Basic Film/Video Technic
Many artists used daily life activities as subject matter. Through filmic way of viewing, these usual life actions became incidents, which contain another layer of meaning. By appreciating and discussing these works, participants will open up their perceptions toward daily trivialness.

Trivialness in Life
In this course, it will introduce various artists and how they use moving image to present relations between spaces and oneself. Through the representation of the space, we could see how creators viewing the world, and furthermore bringing out his/her relation with the world.

How to represent “memory”? Film and memory always have a peculiar bond. For many filmmakers, moving image is the best medium to construct memory. Through appreciating and discussing different genre of film/video works, they could discover how to use it to write past and memories.

Phase 3 <Individual Project Production>
加強學員對基礎影像技術的認識,並繼續帶領學員觀察自己的
日常生活,同時也更加深入認識用影像說故事的方法與可能性。
The third phase will be immersed in the individual shooting projects. Mentor will discuss with participants about their shooting themes, guiding them to learn the post-production skills, and gradually finish their own works.
拍攝素材討論
帶領學員學習使用剪接軟體,以及聲音處理與上字等技術教學與指導。
就學員的計畫書與所拍攝到的素材來討論影片可能的樣貌,並提供學員在後製工作上的建議,可視狀況以個別或團體方式進行。
後製技術教學
Discussion of Shooting Subject
According to participants’ proposals and footages they have shot, mentor will provide suggestions about post-production. The discussion could conduct either by individual or group.
Teaching participants how to use editing software, sound effects and upload subtitles...and other techniques.
